A poster calling for a school strike in opposition to Phase 2 of Judge Garrity's busing plan during the Boston busing crisis. After finding Boston's public school system segregated in a 1974 ruling, Garrity began the unpopular process of a racial rebalancing of Boston's schools through a desegregation busing plan. Many leftwing groups used the crisis as an opportunity to protest racism and to counter group's like ROAR who opposed Garrity's ruling, but the Committee for Decent Education argued that Garrity's plan was simply a way to defund schools by reallocating money to lucrative busing contracts and the Boston police force. The Committee for Decent Education was organized solely around the busing crisis and likely shared members with the Mass Worker labor group. Printed in black on a white 23" x 17" sheet. Folded, else fine. Not found in WorldCat.
