Most parents today are trying to do the right thing.

We help when things get hard.
We step in when something goes wrong.
We try to make sure our kids don’t struggle more than they have to.

It comes from a good place.

But look around.

Kids give up faster.
Small problems feel overwhelming.
Failure hits harder than it should.

And somewhere in the middle of all this, a difficult question shows up:

Are we helping… or making it worse?

This book takes a hard look at what modern parenting has become.

Not in a judgmental way.
Not in a “you’re doing everything wrong” way.
But honestly.

It breaks down why constantly stepping in can quietly build dependence instead of confidence. Why avoiding discomfort now can make life much harder later. And why some of the things that feel like good parenting in the moment don’t actually help in the long run.

There’s no complicated framework here.

Just a simple shift:
stop trying to remove every obstacle, and start letting your child deal with some of them.

That doesn’t mean being harsh.
It means being deliberate.

Because sooner or later, they’ll have to handle things on their own.

The question is whether they’ll be ready for it.
