The Stories We Almost Don't Tell: Finding the Courage to Tell Yours (Paperback or Softback)

What if the uncomfortable stories you've been holding back could help you live more fully — and help others feel less alone?

For years, Michele Richman stayed in the background, convinced her voice wasn't worth hearing. A former litigator and prosecutor turned leadership coach, she had spent years helping others find their courage — while quietly keeping her own stories to herself.

Then she started writing about her worst, most mortifying experiences: embarrassing moments, failures, and struggles with imposter syndrome. And everything changed.

What began as a personal way to process life became something far more powerful: a path to connection. Each vulnerable moment Michele shared helped another person feel less alone. Each story gave someone else permission to tell theirs.

By chronicling childhood bullying, professional setbacks, special-needs parenting, grief, and years of shrinking before finally choosing to be seen, she reveals how sharing our most tender stories transforms both the teller and the listener.

This book is for you if you have ever:

• Kept your struggles private to appear strong
• Felt like an imposter in your own life or career
• Made yourself smaller to take up less space
• Longed for permission to tell the stories you've been holding back

Part memoir-in-essays, part manifesto, and part permission slip, The Stories We Almost Don't Tell demonstrates how vulnerability creates connection, builds courage, and helps us live authentically.

The stories we almost don't tell are often the ones that matter most.
