About the Author
DAVID KAHIKINA DEL ROCCO has been a student of the Hawaiian language since 1988. He is currently attending the University of HawaiÔi. He has translated thirteen childrenÕs books for the DOE Immersion Schools and has worked for fourteen years in the stateÕs library system, most of that time as a childrenÕs librarian.
ROY CHANG is an art teacher, an editorial cartoonist and a freelance illustrator. He graduated with a BFA in Illustration from the Academy of Art College in San Francisco and earned his Masters in Education degree from the University of HawaiÕi at Mnoa. As part Hawaiian, Roy feels honored to have learned more about ancient Hawaiian culture while researching details for the book.
