This pocketbook is still straight, relatively tight, cover is frayed and a couple tears noted on inside pages but all are intact. The real heroine of this novel is a great and devastating storm. The author wanted to show us how a storm grows from a small disturbance on a map to a front of thousands of miles of wind, rain, snow and change of temperature, directly affecting the activities and the very lives of all the millions in its path. The book is set in the 1940s, at a time of war, and its name is Maria. A special book! Proceeds from the sale of this book benefit environmental restoration and education.
