First edition, first printing of work which was originally published under author's pseudonym of George Owen Baxter as three separate stories in Western Story Magazine in 1931. This story was abridged and rewritten from those shorter stories. Formerly property of the library, with stickers and tape remnants. Volume itself is bright and clean. --- Max Brand was the best-known pseudonym of Frederick Schiller Faust (1892-1944). Mr. Faust worked at a cattle ranch in California as a youth and was one of the most prolific American writers.; Silver star western; Ex-Library; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 220 pages.
