About this Item
A scarce copy of this reprint of The Story of David, with illustrations from John Farleigh. Reprinted from the first and second Books of Samuel, the authorised version of 1611 is followed without alteration. Illustrated with eleven wood-engravings. From the day the youngest son of Jesse was brought to play the harp before Saul, the tale of David's life follows his tragedy and triumph to his death as a great king. Illustrated by John Farleigh, also known as Frederick William Charles Farleigh, an English wood-engraver. In the original yellow cloth binding. Externally, smart with light shelf wear to the extremities. Light discolouration to the cloth. Original price-clipped dust wrapper is sound with light chipping and wear to the extremities. Sunning to the spine and the odd small mark to the board. The odd small closed tear. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd spot. Very Good. Seller Inventory # 883T68
