Story Lessons on Character-Building (Morals) and Manners by Lois Bates is an instructional book designed to teach children important life lessons on character development and proper manners through engaging stories. The book is structured around a series of short narratives that illustrate key moral principles, such as honesty, kindness, respect, responsibility, and courtesy. Each story is crafted to appeal to children, providing them with relatable characters and situations where they can learn the consequences of their actions and the importance of making virtuous choices. In addition to moral lessons, Bates also emphasizes the importance of good manners, explaining how they play a vital role in fostering positive relationships and social harmony. Through the characters' actions, children are shown how good manners—such as saying "please" and "thank you," being considerate of others, and acting with politeness—can make interactions more pleasant and build trust and respect in relationships.
