Item description from seller

One of a series of anonymously printed chapbooks published in Glasgow in the mid 1800s, this, one of the Penny series, twice the size of the Halfpenny series, offering seven tales: two involving cats, others featuring fairy folk, unwise but ultimately harmless wishes, a traveling priest with a wicked sense of humor, a dutiful soldier's wife, a heir who learned. Small pamphlet, as pictured; once sewn, but now unbound; thin, delicate paper; edges heavily chipped, minor tanning; 24 pages counting the front cover; we do not believe there was a rear cover. Size: 4" by 6".
