Add to basketA late edition of this famous magazine, illustrated in colour and complete with numerous advertisements. including pieces by Geoffrey Johnson, Sir Stephen Tallents, Sidney Dark and Laurence Kirk.The Strand Magazine ran 711 issues between 1891 and 1950, and was founded by George Newnes. It comprised short fiction and articles regarding general fiction, and was immediately popular, circulating around half a million copies a month from the 1890s into the 1930s. Arthur Conan Doyle"s "Sherlock Holmes" saw their first publication in The Strand, as well as short stories by writers such as Agatha Christie and P. G. Wodehouse.Contains publisher's advertisements for Weetabix, Mars Chocolate, McVities biscuits, Craven, Ford Motor Company Limited, and Player's Navy Cut Cigarettes.This is volumes No. 113, issue no. 679.Undated; dated from contents. In the publisher's original paper wraps. Externally, generally smart, with some shelf wear; staples of the spine are rusted. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Very Good.
