Stranded in Arcady

Introduction to Protagonists: The novel begins by introducing the main characters, Mrs. Elsa Leigh, a wealthy widow, and Burton Norcross, a business executive. Both are initially strangers to each other. The Stranding Incident: The central event that sets the story in motion is the plane crash (or possibly a shipwreck, depending on the mode of transportation used in the story) that leaves Elsa and Burton stranded in a remote wilderness area, which they refer to as "Arcady." Survival in the Wilderness: The bulk of the novel focuses on the protagonists' efforts to survive in the wild. They face numerous challenges, including finding food and shelter, navigating the terrain, and protecting themselves from potential dangers such as wild animals. Developing Relationship: As they work together to survive, Elsa and Burton’s relationship evolves from initial wariness to mutual respect and eventually romantic affection. Their interactions reveal their personalities, strengths, and vulnerabilities.
