1816 Fifth Edition, with Corrections and Amendments, of the renowned 19th-century guidebook first published in 1807. Hardback bound in grey with black borders, motifs and text on both boards, spine plain green, deckled edges.
In very good condition, boards lightly soiled and edges rubbed, ends of spine and corners slightly bumped, front and rear hinges cracked after endpapers, large 8 fold map by title page has a small split.
216pp followed by an extensive section titled ?Views of Liverpool and its Vicinity illustrative of the Stranger in Liverpool? with almost 60 black and white engravings of views, landmarks and buildings, many folding out ? the binding of these is a little loose in places.
