Synopsis
Hawkins, Indiana does not exist on any map, but for a decade it held the world in its grip: bicycles cutting through fog, walkie-talkie static, and a door between worlds that would not stay shut. Stranger Things, written by Matt and Ross Duffer, moves season by season through the series' complete arc, pairing film stills with behind-the-scenes photographs, concept art, and personal pictures taken on set by the cast and crew. Matt and Ross Duffer are the Emmy-nominated creators of the series, which concluded with its final season in December 2025 after a decade spent championing the cast and crew who built it. Legendary filmmaker Frank Darabont, who directed two episodes of the show's fifth and final season, wrote the book's introduction. Many of the images have never been seen before, drawn from camera rolls and files that the Duffer Brothers and Netflix opened for this project alone, mixing the eyes of the show's cinematographers with personal snapshots taken between takes. For the fans who have followed the kids of Hawkins from adolescence to adulthood, and for anyone who has wondered what happens once the cameras stop rolling, Stranger Things offers a view of the impossible feats that turned a small town into a world no one wanted to leave.
About the Author
The Duffer Brothers are the Emmy-nominated creators of the global phenomenon Stranger Things, which concluded with its highly anticipated final season in December 2025. In 2022, they announced the launch of their production company, Upside Down Pictures. The Duffer Brothers currently produce both the Olivier and Tony Award winning West End and Broadway productions of Stranger Things: The First Shadow, directed by Stephen Daldry and written by Kate Trefry. Their most recent projects include a live-action Stranger Things spin-off and animated series, Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 and two Netflix original series: The Boroughs, about retirees battling a supernatural menace, and Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen, which follows a bride and groom in the fateful week leading up to their wedding. The Duffer Brothers’ first theatrical feature, which they will both write and direct for Paramount, will be released in 2028.
