Strawberry Rose and the Summer of Lights (Paperback or Softback)

This is the second book in the children’s chapter book series, “Strawberry Rose”, for ages 9-12, based on the author’s summers spent at the lake with her grandparents as a child.

Rose is ten years old—almost eleven—when she spends another summer at her grandparents’ lakeshore cabin. Along with their cherished dog, Goose, Rose spends time with her cousin, Jimmy, and reconnects with her lake friend, Trudy. They go swimming, huckleberry picking, and enjoy time together. This year, a special surprise is in store for the girls—their families have arranged for Rose and Trudy to attend their first summer camp. At Camp Rainbow, every day will be filled with fun, challenges, activities, and adventures with new friends.

D.D. Glover was born in upstate New York, but she has lived most of her life in the Pacific Northwest. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Washington. D.D. currently lives with her musician husband among ancient apple trees on a lake in Idaho. It is the same property where she spent memorable summers with her grandparents as a child. She has three grown sons who, with their families, visit and enjoy the multi-generation tradition. "Strawberry Rose and the Summer of Lights" is her fourth book written for children and was inspired by her summer childhood memories. It is the sequel to "Strawberry Rose", the first book in this series. Her other books "Apple Pie Time" and "Oh no! Where did Monkey go?" were inspired by her children and grandchildren. When D.D. is not spending time with family and friends, she enjoys knitting, sewing, hiking, gardening, and dancing.

Signe Berglind Hill was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. She graduated from Burnley School of Professional Art with a degree in Graphic Art. She also earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Western Governors University. Between acquiring her degrees, Signe married, raised two boys, and pursued an eclectic mix of interests including quilting, stamping, scrapbooking, and cooking. She has worked as a caterer, craft consultant, elementary school office manager, professional organizer, and freelance graphic artist. Currently, Mrs. Hill is working for a major video game company, and she enjoys constantly honing her artistic and technical skills. Signe illustrated "Strawberry Rose", the first book in this series. She also drew the illustrations for the children's nonfiction picture book, "Hedgehog ABCs", by S. M. Cabell.
