Street rods are high-performance, custom-designed adaptions of pre-W.W.II American automobiles. Whether the rods are based on original bodies and frames or modern reproductions, this guide will help street rodders tackle their projects. The book discusses how and where to find potential street rods. The process of building a rod, from chassis to upholstery, is described in detail with hundreds of photographs. Practical tips on matching engines to frames and choosing the best suspensions, brakes, and cooling systems are included. Safe working and design factors are stressed. Information on equipping a workshop and lists of speciality tool and parts suppliers round out the book. A useful purchase for any library serving street rodders. Peter C.
