Strength of Character and Grace: Develop the Courage to Be Brilliant

Marta Monahan's breakthrough new book, based on her popular lecture series, shows how to develop the courage to be brilliant in every aspect of life. "Excellence," she writes, "is doing something perfectly every time. Brilliance is doing it better every time." Living with brilliance creates charisma and the magnetism that attracts people and opportunities. Each chapter includes a wonderful lesson based on the author's over 25 years of teaching to individuals, groups and corporations. From the central premise that we each have two vehicles we must drive to brilliance every day. The mental vehicle is easy to understand -- it is what we do, our profession, our skills, our hobbies. The key is in the moral vehicle -- "the way we do what we do." The author's personal stories and anecdotes bring each lesson to life. This is the book that school districts from New York to California are using to develop character education programs for their students. Ms. Monahan has lectured at Pepperdine University, Westmont College in Santa Barbara, and to executives from E! Entertainment, eBay, Farmer's Insurance, Century 21 and others. In 2000 she was the keynote speaker at The Economist Magazine's Leadership conference in Singapore. The event attracted the 150 top exectives in Asia.
