Striding Out. Aspects of Contemporary and New Dance in Britain

Paperback. Steiding Out. Rather than attempting a general overview or history of this movement, this book is a detailed examination of selected choreographers of the later 1960s and the 1970s, and of the institutions that supported them. As the title suggests, the seminal role of the early group, Strider, is highlighted. In addition, the work of four major choreographes whose careers began during this pioneering period - Richard Alston, Siobhan Davuies, Rosemary Butcher and Ian Spink - is charted through to the present. This book is accessibly structured so that the chapters may be read in any order; the detailed notes and appendices are also a valuable source of reference. Illustrated. 264 pp. (We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. Academic and Scholarly books and Modern First Editions ,and all types of Educational Reference Literature.).
