Using this design approach, the design engineer or analyst can develop the best optimized design without much dependency of his experience and previous design practice. Topology optimization is a promising tool to explore optimal solutions to engineering products. Benefits are numerous, including: load path visualization, weight savings and system design space. These benefits offer a compelling incentive to employ this technology into the design process to increase the performance of the products by adding value to the customers. This technique replaces time consuming and costly design iterations and hence reduces design development time and overall cost by improving design performance.
