Stuarts and Romanovs: The Rise and Fall of a Special.

This is the first book to discuss a full range of contacts between two of the most famous dynasties in history, the Stuarts and the Romanovs. A full account is given of the evolving diplomatic interchanges between them and the connections between hostilities in Western and Eastern Europe during the period. The book throws some fresh light on both dynasties and encourages comparisons, especially concerning their attempts to establish variants of absolutist government, within the frameworks of commerce, diplomacy and war.

Professor Graeme P. Herd is founding Director of the School of Government and Associate Dean in the Faculty of Business, Plymouth University, which he joined in September 2013.

Dr. Jarmo Kotilaine has been the Chief Economist of Bahrain Economic Development Board since September 2012. He previously served as Chief Economist of the National Commercial Bank (NCB) of Saudi Arabia since 2010, preceded by two years as Chief Economist of NCB Capital, which is the investment arm of the NCB Group.
