Tables and nomographs allow rapid field design using California Bearing Ratio (CBR) tests and other standard Army procedures. When issued, it complemented a student workbook and advance sheets that guided problem-solving and lab work, preparing engineer officers and NCOs for supervision of earthwork projects worldwide.
