Studies in Bahaism. This item is unavailable.Studies in Bahaism

"Studies in Bahaism" is a profound scholarly inquiry into the theological and historical foundations of the Baha'i Faith. This work traces the movement's origins in the Babi religion through to its establishment as a global faith focused on universal unity and ethical reform. Samuel Neale Alter presents a detailed analysis of the movement's central figures, including the Bab, Baha'u'llah, and 'Abdu'l-Baha, examining their influence on both the faith's internal development and its external reception.

The study provides a meticulous overview of the Baha'i administrative order, its core tenets, and its vision for a unified global society. By contextualizing the faith within the religious and political landscape of the Middle East and its subsequent spread to the West, "Studies in Bahaism" serves as a vital historical record of the religion's early 20th-century growth. This volume is particularly valuable for researchers of comparative religion and history, offering a contemporary scholarly perspective on the transition of the Baha'i movement from a localized Persian sect to a worldwide religious phenomenon. It remains an important contribution to the understanding of modern spiritual movements and their historical roots.
