Studies In Biblical Parallelism: Part 1, Parallelism In Amos And Part 2, Parallelism In Isaiah, Chapters 1-10 (1918)

""Studies in Biblical Parallelism"" is a two-part book written by Louis Israel Newman in 1918. The first part of the book focuses on the use of parallelism in the book of Amos, while the second part examines parallelism in chapters 1-10 of the book of Isaiah. Parallelism is a literary device commonly found in Hebrew poetry, where two or more lines of text are structured similarly to emphasize a particular idea or theme. Newman's book provides a detailed analysis of the various types of parallelism used in these two books of the Bible, including synonymous, antithetical, and synthetic parallelism. The author also explores the historical and cultural context of these books, providing insight into the social and political issues of the time. This book is a valuable resource for scholars and students of biblical studies, as well as anyone interested in the literary techniques used in ancient Hebrew poetry. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
