This book explores the diverse styles used in setting publications of the H. W. Wilson Company, addressing matters of style and makeup on all the publications, and is intended as a guide in these matters. It covers abbreviations, accents, capitalization, compound words, division of words, footnotes, geographic names, indentions, spacing, italics, leading, make-up, names, numerals, paging, personal names, punctuation, quoted matter, spelling, states (names of), titles of honor, and pseudonyms. The book also includes a brief section on alphabetizing, serving principally to call attention to the deviations to be made from the Pittsburgh rules and copies of special rules of style may be consulted if occasion arises, on application to the editors in charge of these publications.
