About the Author
Constance C.R. White, a ten-year veteran of the fashion industry, is currently reporting on fashion for The New York Times. The first and only Black woman to hold a senior position at a fashion or beauty magazine, White was the Executive Fashion Editor at Elle, and has worked at Women's Wear Daily with trendsetters such as Byron Lars, Todd Oldham, Richard Tyler, Donna Karan, Alexander McQueen, Cross Colours, Spike Lee, and Veronica Webb. She is a founder and member of Fashion Outreach, a group of industry professionals who share information with young African Americans and Hispanics seeking careers in fashion.
