Subspeciation in Pocket Gophers of Kansas [KU. Vol. 1

Subspeciation in Pocket Gophers of Kansas is a detailed scientific study authored by E. Raymond Hall and Bernardo Villa Ramírez that focuses on the subspecies of pocket gophers found in Kansas. This research contributes to the understanding of the diversity and classification of these rodents within the family Geomyidae, specifically addressing their evolutionary relationships and geographical distribution. The study examines various morphological characteristics of pocket gophers, including their size, skull structure, fur coloration, and other distinguishing traits that help delineate subspecies. Hall and Villa Ramírez utilize extensive field research, museum specimens, and genetic analysis to provide a comprehensive overview of the subspeciation process within these animals.
