Ellen and Ted Brennan were born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, "The Big Easy," known for its carefree lifestyle and great food. Ellen married Ted, co-owner of one of the city's most renowned restaurants, Brennan's in New Orleans, and, together, they have lived a festive lifestyle filled with good food for almost 30 years.

In 1995, one of the authors of SUGAR BUSTERS! CUT SUGAR TO TRIM FAT introduced Ellen and Ted to the Frenchman Michel Montignac's low sugar way of eating that did not sacrifice quality and taste to which they were accustomed.
