About the Authors
James A. Johnson is a medical social scientist who specializes in organizational and health systems development. He is a Professor in the School of Health Sciences and Doctor of Health Administration (DHA) Program at Central Michigan University where he teaches courses in comparative health systems, organizational behavior, and health systems thinking. He'is a very'active researcher and health science writer with over 100 journal articles and'20 books published. One book read worldwide is Comparative Health Systems: Global Perspectives'where he and co-researchers analyzed the health systems of 20 different countries. He is also the co-author of the recently published Health Systems Thinking.'Eighteen of Professor Johnson’s books have been selected for the permanent collection of the National Library of Medicine.Dr. Johnson is past-editor of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Journal of Healthcare Management and a Contributing Editor for the Journal of Health and Human Services Administration, and global health editor for the Journal of Human Security and Resilience.'Additionally, he has served on many boards including the Scientific Advisory Board of the National Diabetes Trust Foundation; American Public Health (APHA) Governing Council; Board of the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA); Advisory Board of the Alliance for the Blind and Visually Impaired; Board President of Charleston Low Country AIDS Services; Advisory Board of the Joint Africa Working Group;'Advisory Board of the Center for Collaborative Health Leadership; and Board of Advisors for Health Systems of America. He is a regular delegate to the World Health Congress and a member of the Global Health Council. 'Dr. Johnson completed his Ph.D. at Florida State University.'
Kimberly Sanders-Davey is Associate'Professor of Public Health and Director of the Undergraduate Public Health Program'in the School of Public Health at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama.'She was previously an instructor in the Department of Family, Community, and Health Systems at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing.' Dr. Davey teaches courses in leadership, management, strategy, health systems, health policy, and comparative health systems. She completed her PhD in Health Services Administration at the UAB School of Health Professions, MBA in business administration at Samford University, and MA in Diplomacy and International Relations at Seton Hall University.'
Richard G. Greenhill, DHA FACHE is a strategic healthcare leader with expertise in innovation, digital strategy, healthcare quality and patient safety. He is an international speaker on topics related to AI use in healthcare delivery, hospital resilience, quality and patient safety. He is the Editor-In-Chief of the International Journal for Quality in Healthcare, Communications (IJCOMS), an Oxford University Press and International Society for Quality in Healthcare (ISQua) peer-review publication.Rich's career is extensive with deep experience across the continuum of care, quality, and performance improvement. He was elected by his international peers to the prestigious International Academy for Quality and Safety (IAQS), joining luminaries in the universe of quality improvement and patient safety. Membership in the Academy is lifelong and one of the highest honors that someone in healthcare quality can achieve.He is honorably retired from the United States Navy as well as a published researcher as well as author of various textbooks, editorials, and peer-reviewed publications.
