As this Summary Report makes clear, the institution was found to have a number of significant deficiencies in administration, faculty and quality of library resources when visited by the Committee for Inspection. Lane College must have dealt successfully with the recommendations contained herein. Lane became fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools during the administration of President Richard H. Sewell at some unspecified date before his election as a Bishop of the C.M.E. Church in 1970.
