Contemporary binding, in quarter-leather and full polished wooden boards with pictorial onlays and gilt tooling. All edges gilt. Restored & rebacked in full-morocco with new gilt spine-label. Marbled endpapers, partially restored. Moderate wear and handling to boards. Some toning and slight foxing to text, endpapers & flyleaves; old owners' names to rear flyleaf. Otherwise clean, tight, and unmarked. Very neat -- a sound and handsome copy of a scarce book in a rare binding. Illustrated -- three plates, including frontispiece. viii[9-]213pp.
