Dustwrapper in very poor state, torn in three pieces (front panel, back panel and back flap, with spine mostly gone) and with creasing and tears to the edges. Some bumping and wear to spine ends and corners of orange boards, a previous owner's name on f/ep, some yellowing to the pages, but otherwise a not too bad, tight copy of this hard-cover book. One of the author's nautical stories for children featuring the characters from his "Family Afloat". Originally published in July 1944, this is a reprint from March 1946. 266pp, b&w frontispiece and drawings at chapter heads and ends. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
