The Sun Always Knows Where to Find Me

Never stop seeking joy. Cultivate your own magic. In the end, you'll always be blooming.

An uplifting debut collection of poetry, The Sun Always Knows Where to Find Me is a story of growth through the lens of relationships of all kinds: from love to loss, from lust to longing, and from sisterhood to self-love. The ones who drain our soil, and the ones who nourish us.

Both intimate and relatable, Elodie Parthenay's poems weave an overarching story of growth that encourages the reader to cultivate their own particular magic.

Canadian poet Elodie Parthenay was born in Paris thirty-something years ago. A former magazine editor-in-chief, she studied creative writing at UCLA, where she was nominated for the Allegra Johnson Prize for Fiction for her work on an upcoming fantasy novel. A hopeless romantic and die-hard optimist, she writes poetry about love, loss, sisterhood, and self-love, as seen and experienced by a queer woman of colour. The Sun Always Knows Where to Find Me is her first poetry collection. She currently lives with her daughter and their fluffy rescue cat, Flerken, in Montreal, where she writes for women's magazines and practices astrology.
