The Sun Has Risen: A Guide & Cookbook for Martial Artists, 2nd Ed.

The Revolutionized Art System (RAS), as taught by SGuro John Davies and Grand Master Jimmy Reforma, represents a profound legacy of Filipino Martial Arts (FMA). This centuries-old family fighting system, which only became public knowledge two decades ago, is not just a martial art—it's a comprehensive way of life that emphasizes self-preservation and personal betterment. The RAS (Revolutionized Art System), also known as Reforma Eskrima, is celebrated for its effectiveness and efficiency in combat, specializing in close quarters and extending to mid and long-range engagements. What sets RAS apart is its holistic approach to martial arts as a means of recovery and self-improvement, making it accessible and beneficial for individuals seeking a transformative journey. As the first American to achieve the rank of 5th Degree Red Belt and Black Belt, the title of "Senior Guro" signifies a high level of mastery and dedication to the art of RAS, which is also an Arnis system. The RASystem's ability to incapacitate an opponent swiftly is a testament to its practical application in real-world scenarios. Moreover, the HaGiBis hand-to-hand combat drills, known for their unparalleled hand speed, are a unique aspect of the RAS training regimen, offering a wide range of techniques and applications. This martial art form is not only about physical prowess but also about cultivating the fastest reflexes and a strategic mindset. For those interested in delving deeper into the philosophy and techniques of RAS, this book contains the entire curriculum for RAS and is a great "guide" or "manual" and available to detail its rich history and practice.
