Sunset Basic Woodworking Illustrated

Demonstrates the correct procedures for using hand and power tools, shows basic woodworking joints and finishing techniques, and offers instructions for making tables, beds, bookshelves, and lawn furniture

This title gives a complete course in woodworking, from lumber and tool analysis to making desks, bunkbeds, outdoor redwood furniture, even a classic coaster wagon with removable sides. The concise chapters and sub-sections should help those beginners who are dedicated and persistent master both traditional and recently developed techniques. The book is better suited to somewhat experienced workers, however, as the text tends to assume considerable knowledge of terms and procedures. Basic methods of cutting and joining (dado, dovetail, mortise and tenon), design and assembly procedures for cabinetry, door-hanging, and plain and fancy furniture components are among the subjects covered. Perhaps the most importantand fascinatingproject detailed here is the ideal workbench. January
