Sunset Liminal is the flagship literary magazine of Sunset Liminal Press, founded in 2014 by three spirited friends based on their belief in the ultimate importance of literature, specifically literature that marries personal, raw emotions with finely tuned adherence to craft in ways that show a human touch of spirit enmeshed in a base of intellect and canonical intertextuality. Sunset Liminal Press is the bow of a new movement, running into the future of literature hauling a tugboat line that reaches back through every era. We seek to publish work that delves into the soul of the individual to reveal wordless truths that haunt every corner of our culture & conscious lives. In this latest issue, we are proud to publish powerful poetry from J.P. Berame, Elena Botts, Kimberly Campbell, Yuan Changming, Jovanni Dwojak, Matthew Freeman, Jane Ellen Glasser, Julia Guarch, Gayane Haroutyunyan, Jack D. Harvey, Olivia J. Kiers, and Nancy Pagh alongside poignant prose from Jordan Davidson and Laura Bernstein-Machlay. From head editor Greg Scheiber: "The theme of loneliness is at the center of this unconscious collection of work. The very nature of writing for art stems from the desire to connect with another's soul somewhere out there. To know that there are others who share our loneliness for we are most obviously shells when we are in the midst of the herd. But as animals who desire love and attention, friends and family, we establish these through the hermetic spirit of the writer. These pages are wrought with faded memories, colored with the nostalgic eye of the mind; fused with human spirit and the need to commune with the lost and the losing; the attempt to hold on to ourselves through art; the exposure to the dueling attitudes of the natural world: harmony and wilderness; and finally, the realization of beauty and transcendence that emerges in our everyday world and reaches its golden fingers into ourselves.
