Superstate

Yoga Town is a city divided. While they wait to leave the earth, the 1% can bend reality to their will, they live in a consequence free world where anything goes. Meanwhile, the masses are pacified by a drugged out, government mandated digital dreamscape while they wait to perish on this dying planet. But there is still hope, for angels roam the earth. With their help, maybe some rebellious spirits can start to make a change.

Helen’s career began in film distribution, managing the release of major films for the likes of Studio Canal and EOne. Later she produced the feature documentary FUTURESHOCK! THE STORY OF 2000AD and shorts such as the multi-award-winning NASTY. Her first graphic novel, Nicnevin and the Bloody Queen was released in 2020. Since her debut, Helen collaborated with Graham Coxon on his multi-media Superstate project, co-wrote the graphic novel Painted and wrote an animated short film and one-shot comic for Beavertown Breweries’ widely acclaimed Flightmare campaign. She has written short stories for the likes of Storyworlds and Heavy Metal. In 2023 Helen moved to Ireland to pursue a Masters in Creative Writing at UL. Helen is a former dog-musher and the subject of the documentary The Long Run as part of RTÉ radio’s Doc on One series. The programme documents her quest to represent Ireland in the international endurance race Femundløpet in Norway.

Alex Paknadel, born in London, is a British comic book writer and academic known for his hard-edged science fiction and horror series. Holding an MA in English Literature, he is widely recognized for his acclaimed independent work like Arcadia, Redfork, and All Against All, as well as high-profile runs for Marvel, DC, and Titan Comics. Paknadel initially pursued academia and earned an MA in English Literature from Lancaster University. He transitioned into comic writing in 2015, quickly gaining critical acclaim. He is also a founding member of the London-based White Noise Studio collective, alongside fellow writers Dan Watters, Ram V, and Ryan O'Sullivan.
