The Supervisor's Companion by Jeanne Thomas Hugg is a first-time supervisor's survival kit. 
Hugg's style is personable but authoritative. [The] guide addresses every aspect of supervision and provides practical solutions that can be cultivated on a daily basis. This was her first book but I would like to read more of her work in the future. The Supervisor's Companion is highly recommended for any management professional.
