Sure Foundations: Reflections on the Beginnings of Christianity

This book focuses on the relevance of Christianity for the twenty-first-century world. It addresses questions such as:
•Is Jesus real?
•Can we know that Jesus rose from the dead?
•Does Christianity have a sure foundation?
It examines Jesus’s historicity, the significance of the empty tomb, and the unexpected, transformative impacts of the early disciples’ encounters with the risen Lord. It then looks behind these testimonies to explore the role of the Holy Spirit in the resurrection and as the life-giving, active agent of God in the lives of Christians today. It concludes with an examination of the role of miracles, both then and now, in Christian witness.
The book’s emphasis is experiential, demonstrating that Jesus Christ is not only risen from the dead but also alive today, and that Christianity has a sure foundation which can be trusted.
