This book is founded on practical experience in every part of the field. The most important part of that experience was gained during eighteen months surgey in the Salonika area. Hughes and Banks were working during this time at a hospital which was constantly busy, for it received the majority of the seriously wounded. ix, 623pp illustrated in colour and black and white. Spine ends lightly rubbed otherwise very good throughout.

The village of Farningham has iron age origins, with much Roman settlement, and is today still predominantly 18th century in character. The shop is named after Wadard, one of Farningham's Domesday landlords, a henchman of Bishop Odo, William the Conquerers brother,and featured on the Bayeaux tapestry. …
