About the Author
Ignazio Francesco Masala received his degree in Medicine in 1999 from University of Cagliari and accreditation in Ortopedic surgery in 2004. He is currently Senior Consultant in Trauma and Ortopedic Unit at University of Cagliari, Italy.His clinical and research interest lies in acute and chronic pain with particular focus on the investigation and management of pain in orthopedic field.
Daniel Aletaha is a consultant rheumatologist at the Medical University of Vienna and a renowned scientist in outcomes research, clinical trials, and translational research in rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory rheumatic diseases. He received academic degrees from the Medical University in Vienna, Duke University in North Carolina, and Danube University Krems. Daniel has spent more than two years at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. Daniel Aletaha is a highly cited author of the field of rheumatology and author of more than 200 publications. He is also associate editor of Arthritis and Rheumatology and RMD Open, and editorial board member of a number of rheumatology specialty journals.
Marcus Lee graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of London. He is a Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon at University College Hospital, and Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer, Division of Surgery and Interventional Sciences, University College London, United Kingdom. He is a member of the British Elbow and Shoulder Society and an Examiner for the Intercollegiate Specialty Examination in Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery.
Xenofon Baraliakos is a Senior Consultant and scientific coordinator at the Rheumazentrum Ruhrgebiet Herne and Associate Professor for Internal Medicine and Rheumatology at the Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany.
He studied Human Medicine at the universities of Magdeburg and Berlin, Germany. Dr. Baraliakos received his official Board Degree in orthopaedic surgery and in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. His research interests include clinical and academic research in the field of spondyloarthritides, with special emphasis on imaging outcomes and treatment of the disease.
