Published by Dean & Son in 1892. Size; 32.2 x 22.5 cms. Page number: 8. Hardcover. illustrated boards and cloth spine. An ingenious book. It has three pop ups - two single page and one double spread - which, by the use of thin thread and a carefully contrived action, cause the images to pop up into model relief when the page is opened, then fold back again as the page is turned. The mechanism is far more sophisticated than is usual. Condition. Very Good. The cover is somewhat worn and a little grubby. The title page has been coloured in I believe using watercolour paint There are small breakages and tears in the pop-ups that influence their action. Also possibly, breakages in the strings. The sails of the wIndmill are missing. The missing half of the signalman's flag is detached. It does exist: I have put it in a bag. There's a mark at the top center of the train picture.
