Like most people, I have gone through my share of adversity in life. Everyone has a story, and we all experience life for the good and the bad. This is a story of a regular guy who came out the other side with new purpose, new perspective, and tried to learn from each experience. When reflecting back on my life, it became clear that in every case, the common theme to making it through my adversity was the ability to surrender. That is, to give in, not give up. This simple act allowed me to trade in my expectations for acceptance.

In the end, it came down to investing in myself and my personal growth. The best investment you can make is the one in yourself. I learned that doing the work and being comfortable with being uncomfortable moves you toward massive action and brings you to a higher level.

In this book, I share my lessons learned and map out the steps I took to overcome adversity in my life. My hope is that this book will speak to you and help you in some way. A Boston native, Rob has faced adversity throughout his life and learned how to come out of each experience with a higher purpose and new perspective. As a seasoned sales executive of over forty years, Rob leads his teams with empathy and applies the lessons learned from his adversity to help others build resilience and thrive, not only in business but in their personal lives as well. Rob currently lives in London with his wife, Missy, and enjoys spending time with this blended family of five children and three grandchildren.
