Sweaty Cats and Baby Pigeons

These eight short stories are written for the inquiring mind of a young child, with the view that grandparents play an important role in the development of their little loved ones. Many grandparents have had to accept that their grandchildren do not live around the corner from them. Therefore, intensive periods of involvement with them are relatively short. Yet, we still strive at every opportunity, to keep in touch with our grandchildren. The stories and illustrations that follow are a fun, humourous and expressive way in which grandparents can interact and stimulate communication between the generations, as well as develop a whole series of creative questions. These questions can initiate the first step of an educational journey of discovery.

Born and educated in London, England, I worked for various newspapers in England before immigrating to Canada where I resumed my career in the newspaper and magazine fields and established a communications company. Currently, I publish a respected international internet news service now in its 15th year of publication, dealing with issues relating to intolerance, hate, antisemitism, Islamophobia and conflict. As a diplomat, I served as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Rwanda to Canada, post-genocide era. I continue to lecture and moderate courses in the areas of therapeutic management, communications and religion in politics. After living in Amsterdam for several years, I returned to Toronto where I am working on my fourth book, a novel, set in France, which facetiously addresses cultural diversity issues that go beyond the stereotypes of British and French society.
