Item description from seller

Wraps. "Dazzling charms and an angel face, Dimpled arms that can sure embrace.May drink a bit and maybe swear some, May shrink a bit and maybe dare some, But.She's one sweet Show Girl!" This 1928 sheet music doesn't just know the tune, it knows how to serve face, specifically that of Alice White (1904-1983), the star of movies like Broadway Babies, Hot Stuff, Sweet Mama, and more. White got her start as a rival to Clara Bow herself in the late silent film era, with title roles like the one in the 1928 film adaptation of J. P. McEvoy's Show Girl, directed by Alfred Santell and co-starring Mexican-American heartthrob Donald Reed. It's likely Alice White was the inspiration for turning Dixie Dugan, the titular Show Girl and an iconic brown-eyed brunette, into the vivacious blonde of the film and its sequel, Show Girl in Hollywood. The 1928 synchronized sound film had no audible dialogue, but a musical score with sound effects-and a theme song, "She's One Sweet Show Girl" and was composed by Ted Ward and Edward Crossman, presented here in this 1928 sheet music for fans of Show Girl. 12" X 9 1/8". 5pp. Pictorial wraps featuring Alice White as Show Girl "Dixie Dugan" to upper wrap and music and lyrics for another song "Blossoms (That Bloom in the Moonlight) by Ben Black and James Dietrich to rear wrap, with two-page sheet laid in between. Stamp of Loomis Temple of Music in New Haven to upper wrap. Mild edgewear to wraps, with 3/4" split to tail of spine, light dust soiling, small neat tear to top edge of rear wrap, and some creasing. Small piece of tape to top margin of loose-leaf pages 3/4, pencilled 'x' to rear wrap, and light toning and dust soiling, else clean and unmarked.
