Swindled: How the GOP Cheated Ron Paul and Lost Themselves the Election

In 2012, the GOP had the chance of a lifetime, and squandered it with 'politics as usual'. This book is a no-holds barred account of the 2012 Presidential GOP race, and how party insiders and media elites ignored the people's choice to ensure the nomination of Mitt Romney. Follow the action from state to state, primary to primary as the campaign of Dr. Ron Paul is maligned, criticized, lied to and lied about. Watch the GOP tilt the table over and over again to marginalize Congressman Paul's groundswell of support. From media blackouts to stolen ballot boxes to physical intimidation of voters, this book is the story the GOP doesn't want you to read.

I believe  that  2012 was not just another election, that there was, within the GOP a battle for the soul and the future of the  party.  On one side of the line were the status quo Republicans for whom  power is  sometimes more important than principle. On the other side was the liberty movement made up of people from all walks of life who valued priciple above all. The other thing that made 2012 unique was that, for the first time in decades, there was a candidate who really was the inspiration and  standard bearer for so many in the liberty movement; Congressman Ron Paul.
The struggle that went on  within the GOP  was mostly ignored by the media, but it was the victory of the staus quo crowd, who had the money, but not the hearts, that set the  stage for  the re-election of Barack Obama. Mitt Romney lost not because his opponent was a better candidate, but because the game had changed, and the GOP missed it.
This issue is still important because unless the GOP changes its mindset, and  returns to principle, they will continue to lose elections. The liberty movement is growing, and the GOP need not  reinvent itself to  be embraced, it need only  actually  do what it says it believes in.
