Circa 1885, a work of fiction written for girls by the author of "Stories About." Red cloth with gilt titling on spine, gilt illustration on front, gilt and black decorative border on spine and front, black decoration on back, decorated end papers, black and white frontispiece, illustrated title page, very attractive black and white full-page, captioned illustrations throughout, each page has a black simple border, publisher's advertising on last few pages. 275 pages. A few spots of discoloration to cover, corners and spine ends have some wear, spine sunned, text block edges darkened, foxing on end papers, sticker remnant on end paper, owner's name in ink on endpaper dated 1885, occasional foxing spots in text, binding is firm but cracked in a few locations. This is a very handsome book, in nice condition, given its age. Shipping charges are calculated for a standard parcel under 1 kg.
