Add to basketIssue of poetry journal containing Sylvia Plath s last written poems. The Review. Oxonian Press: Oxford, 1963. Includes essay memorializing Plath by the poet A.Alvarez, "She was a tall, spindly girl with waist-length sandy hair, which she usually wore in a bun, and that curious, advertisement-trained transatlantic air of anxious pleasantness. But this was a nervous social manner; under it, she was ruthless about her perceptions, wary and very individual." Journal cover shows black and white photo of Plath. Poems include "Daddy" and "Lady Lazarus." The poems first printed in this journal were written in the last weeks of Plath s life and would go on to make up the posthumous collection Ariel published in 1965. This journal came out 7 months after the poet s suicide, memorializing her death by celebrating her work. A moving textual monument. Very good condition.
