About the Author
Timothy J. Culver, the second of six children, was born in Newark, N.J., in 1964, to Mrs. Irie Delle (Hogans) Culver and the late Mr. Otis Lee Culver. He grew up in Abbeville, Ala., where he graduated from high school in 1983. Upon receiving an academic tuition scholarship, he attended Jacksonville State University in Alabama, where he received a BA in Art and Anthropology. He became a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Within three years of obtaining his BA, he graduated from Troy State University in Alabama with an MS Fds. Ed. Degreee in Education and Art. He joined Kappa Delta Pi, an international honors society in education, and was recruited by the Florida Department of Education. In Florida, he taught at the middle school, high school and post-secondary levels. His teaching repertoire ranged from drawing fundamentals to advanced design, creative photography, and three-dimensional modeling and animation. He coached football, track and field, and sponsored such clubs as Interact and Art. He began writing and illustrating while attending Jacksonville State University, where he wrote two books that were adopted into the university's student works permanent collection. As a professional graphic artist, his work ranges from the traditional visual arts to new media design. He served 17 years in the United States Air Force Reserve and is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom. Mr. Culver is the founder, president and CEO of Making It Personal 4 U Productions, Inc. The company was formed to embrace the creative spirit of others by promoting arts in education and lifestyle. The services provided include scholarships, unique arts information, artist promotion and networking on a global level. The Embracing Your Creative Spirit Cancer Foundation was also formed by Mr. Culver. The mission of this not-for-profit organization is to provide alternative financial support to cancer victims and their families.
