217pp, profusely illustrated, student directory, ads, black buckram stiff wraps with silver college motif and title at cover, moderate general wear, contents clean and bright; very occasional autographs noted including Richard F. Leedy, Arnold C. Brown, William E. McDougall, Jack B. Rapp, Ellis A. Rosenthal, and Robert A. Steele. Apparently the personal copy of junior Basil Ferguson Martin, whose signature appears at front fly, and whose portrait is at page 99. Present-day Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine was established in 1899 as the Philadelphia College and Infirmary of Osteopathy, and was the third osteopathic medical school to open in the United States. In September 1899, the first degree was awarded, and in February, 1900, the first class graduated two students, including one woman. The college was renamed the Philadelphia College of Osteopathy in 1921, and remained so until 1967 when it changed to its present name. Very scarce. Seller Inventory # 023098
