These books have been bound in a soft brown leather. Missing volume 1. Dr. Benjamin Bell was a member of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Ireland, one of the surgeons to the Royal Infirmary, and fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. The printing was for O. Penniman and Co.; Thomas and Andrews, Boston; T.S. Arden, New York; and J. Conrad and Co., Philadelphia. The upper corners of the front paste down end paper have book labels "Private Library of Rollin J. Kingsley." There is corner bumping and edge wear of the leather. Hinges are beginning to show stress. Severe chip on the upper spine edge of volume 2. Text has yellowed with some spotting, but is solid in it's bindings and unmarked. Interesting set but should be handled with care. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
