Synopsis
"This book is a timely and much-needed resource for pastors, theological students, and lay leaders. It does not simply dwell on abstract theories of homiletics but offers a systematic and practical approach that enables the preacher to prepare and present sermons with confidence. The heart of the book lies in its detailed treatment of different types of sermons-topical, textual, and expository. Each type is explained with guidelines, strengths and weaknesses, and illustrated with model sermons. This blend of principle and practice will prove invaluable to beginners who are taking their first steps in preaching as well as to experienced preachers who seek to sharpen their craft. Volume 2 Sermons for Special Occasions equips ministers to faithfully and sensitively address festivals, the Lenten season, and family-related occasions. This book reflects not only his knowledge but also his lived experience as a preacher and teacher of preachers. I believe that those who use this guide will not only grow as preachers but also as faithful servants of the Word." Rev. Dr. Packiam Samuel Director, Henry Martyn Institute Vice President-NCCI, Hyderabad, India
